In the second semester of the Animal Logic Academy, the cohort was split into teams and were tasked to make a game pitch with the span of 6 weeks.
I was part of Team MUESUMCEPTION as a stakeholder which I interpreted as someone who leads, organises and schedules meetings and deadlines for other members of the team. Even though I was placed as the only stakeholder, I shared this role along with Alex who insisted on help me which I greatly appreciate her help being able to suggesting and pitching ideas and helping out whenever she can.
What worked?
What worked out in the end was me planning and creating the opening sequence for the pitch video. It was initially suppose to be longer but the first 15 seconds was about to get the idea across on what the game was suppose to be.
What didn’t worked?
Initially my group thought we were suppose to make an actual playable game and I spent a week trying to code a multiplayer server into unity with no success. However, during a meeting with the leads, they tell us that we didn’t need to create a working game and we can use free online assets instead of making new ones. So I basically wasted a week of doing nothing but, it was still a good learning experience getting into C sharp programming.
What to improve?
The things I would improve on is spending more time on the game side of the pitch to make it more fun then a scavenger hunt. Regarding my editing, I would improve on finding better suited music.
Overall, both stressful and fun experience that my team won the Best Project Award which meant this pitch was going to be developed further in the final semester.
