Dragon 2020

BRIeF…

While studying at ALA (Animal Logic Academy), I have also been working on another attempt at creature dragon animation on Fridays for the past 2 months.

Rig: Dragon

What worked?

Compared to my last dragon animation, I’m surprised with the massive improvement on the flying animation since I am now not exaggerating as much to the wing flapping and being able to add in extra details such as the spikes and wings moving subtle as wind passes.

What didn’t worked?

The weight shifting when the dragon walks is still a bit snappy in my opinion. This is something I would greatly like to improve on. As well as the duration of the shot. It’s turned out 10 seconds longer than initially storyboard due to the flying animation. Overall, still a great improvement compared to last year

What to improve?

What I would improve on is trying out more complex movement such as breathing fire or destructive scene. I would also spend more time on weight shifting and trying to make the shot duration less so I can focus more on the quality than the quantity.
